Dr. Jie Zhao, obtained her Ph.D. degree in Tsinghua University. After graduation, she spent two more years in Tsinghua as a postdoc in Prof. Yadong Li group. In Nov. 2014, she moved to UC Berkeley, and continued her postdoc study under supervision of Prof. F. Dean Toste, Prof. Paul Alivisatos and Prof. Gabor Somorjai. In Oct 2018, she joined ECUST as an associate professor. Her research interest is exploring organic catalysis in both homogeneous and heterogeneous ways, and research results have been published in some “fancy” journals such as ACS Cent. Sci., J. Am. Chem. Soc, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed, Nat. Cat., et al.

In this talk, she is going to introduce her recently finished project on synthesis of chiral THF acetals. In the end, she will share some delightful experience in UC Berkeley.
